Temptation and the role it plays in everyday life
This theme is prevalent in the novel as Harker and Van Helsing are both tempted by the voluptuous vampires that try to seduce them. When Harker is seduced by them, he is saved by Dracula, showing that he wasn't very confident in who he was, and in the power he had; however, the fact that even Van Helsing, the strongest character in the novel, was effected shows that even the strongest can fall to the temptations in everyday life.
